PJ Snoozer and The 40 Winker
Back in the spring of 2001 we upgraded after years of tent camping to our fun teadrop trailer which we nicknamed 'PJ Snoozer'. The name was well suited, considering we pulled it with a PT Cruiser! We did a variety of upgrades to the PJ Snoozer in the following years, giving it a more retro look with old fashioned fenders painted an Adirondack red, a completely remodelled back galley and a good shine by polishing the aluminum. This is an amazing little camper, a reproduction of a 1930/1940 classic, a mere 4 feet wide, and 10ft long. The teardrop is simple, easy to tow and cute to boot.
Eventually the PT Cruiser was replaced with a Jeep Liberty which allowed us to tow our new boat to Fish Creek. We loved the teardrop, and met many wonderful (and curious) people with it in our travels.

In the fall of 2006 we upgraded again, mainly because we were doing so much camping, that we outgrew the teardrop. We wanted to extend our season, and have a bit more comfort on rainy days. We still have the Snoozer, and hope we will return with it to Fish Creek on occasion. Find out more about out this unique trailer on our PJ Snoozer site.
Our current trailer is a 2007, 75th Anniversary edition 19 foot Airstream Bambi. This special edition was designed to match some of the form and materials of the 1940's and 1950's. David Winick was the genius who designed and build the prototype for Airstream. There were only 75 of these trailers built, and ours I believe was the only one sold in Canada. The 75th is a perfect match for the retro styling we enjoy, and indeed it is another shiny trailer like the PJ Snoozer! We nicknamed our new Bambi the '40 Winker' based on a joke a friend of ours shared once. A well suiting name indeed!
