Upper Saranac Boat Parade

Features a variety of the great antique wood boats as they parade the length of the lake. The parade starts at 10am at camp Sekon on the western shore of Upper Saranac. Boats head up past Chapel Island up to the boat launch at the far north west shore at the top of the lake. Its 1 1/2 hours long. If you want to watch it from your canoe, or kayaks, you could paddle under Route 30, up the channel into Fish Creek Bay on Upper Saranac, and view the parade as they pass 'The Point' (Whitney Point) just up where the Fish Creek opens up into the main body of the lake. Alternatively you could paddle Follensby Clear Pond up into Green Pond and portage across to the finish area at the north end of Upper Saranac. See www.uppersaranac.com/uploads/2009WoodenBoatParade.pdf for more info. By car you might just as well drive to the boat launch area at the north end of the lake (5 minutes north of Fish Creek) and view the parade as the boats arrive up at the north end.
