storm today. Fish Creek will be buried for a bit! Only 17 days left to melt... yikes!

Interestingly not much snow once you get close to Malone. Fish Creek is a snow hog this year.

Makes me wonder

if kiln dried lumber is subject to the wood restriction. If not, you could bring in some cut up pallet wood. If you can find

oak, not much burns better and heats better plus ease of transport. I brought in a whole bunch last year without a problem (another reason for bringing the race boats) but NY has tightened up on the policy a bit so wonder if that would be restricted this year even though it is construction lumber. Last year my brother brought in a whole pickup load of it.

Kiln dried wood is ok according to the DEC web site.

Only firewood

labeled as meeting New York's heat treatment standards to kill pests (kiln-dried) may be transported into the state and further than 50 miles from the firewood's source. Acceptable firewood heat treatment must raise the core temperature of the firewood to 71 degrees C, or 160 degrees F, and hold it there for at least 75 minutes. Most "kiln-drying" processes that reduce the moisture content to less than 18% achieve this sterilization standard.
