Making my packing list

It cracks me up that they think i should bring a curling iron and/or hair straightener! but the list is pretty good.

What

     items are on your list that are out of the ordinary? We are still tent campers... for now.

We're tent campers also, and I think our packing list is pretty typical, I have a list on the computer

     that I print out a few days before as we gather up our gear.

We're trying something new this year though. We just got a Sodastream machine http://www.sodastreamusa.com/ and we're thinking of bringing it along. Doesn't require batteries or electricity and will save us on having to buy soda. We also like sparkling water, so I can make my very own special Fish Creek Pond Sparkling Water.

I think we bring typical stuff, just A LOT of it. This time we are bringing a couple of hula hoops though.

I know someone who

     brings an inflatable Santa.

Yes we have a custom packing list with items we haven't found on most published lists:

- blow up Santa
- lights and lots of them
- battery packs and lots of them
- flags of various sizes
- wifi

     gear
- portable dock

    
- dock umbrella
- fireplace friend
- folding adirondack chair
- Fish Creek lifesaver

Actually I have added a few new items for our next trip in August:

- another adirondack chair!
- dock extension piece

I'm finally adding an extra 8 square feet of dock space so we can support an extra chair. That single ADK chair always looked so lonely

We tried some solar power twinkle lights this year. They worked great!!! Will have to pick up some more.

Oh I want some solar twinkle lights! I wonder

     if there will be enough sun at Rollins. Our site has a lot of tall pines.

We just bought two new kayaks

     so the top of the SUV is now occupied. We usually put the Thule cartop carrier up there. I think the Mountaineer is going

     to be full to the roof and beyond this time! We'll be hanging stuff out the windows.

We bought Hobie Outback kayaks. They have a pedal drive. I didn't realize how much of the kayak parts and gear will have to fit inside the vehicle.

I just found out that it is recommended to have a whistle when

     out on the water... to summon help. Another thing to add to the list.

Counting the days now.

You might want to add a bailing can to your list.

As far

     as solar lights go, I disconnect the small solar panels for the lights each morning and move them to a sunny

     spot by the water. I have quite a large array of solar panel charging these days lol.

Those Hobies are great! We nearly bought some except trying to get them up on the Yukon would have been a challenge. Pedal power yeah!

I made some covers for the kayaks and use them on the roof like a car top carrier, I also use the canoes

     the same way. I saw two peddle kayaks this year they move along surprisingly well. We had a nice spot to set the solar panel for the lights this year on 58. Even with the trees it still had enough power to light the LEDs each night. I got them through Amazon
