Water Access at R.P. site 34

Postby WNYakker on Mon Feb 15, 2010 2:04 pm

We are planning a weeklong trip to R.P. in June....We like the looks of site 34.....Since there is only one picture, does anyone know what the water access is like? We will be bringing Kayaks with us, so we want to make sure it's not 10 feet down to the water or that the bank is really steep or rocky.

We had site 16 last year and the access was fine, but a little narrow.....If site 34 is similar, we will be happy.

Thanks,

Phil

I am pretty sure we were on that site two years in a row. I am guessing it might be 6-8 feet down to the water, but it was somewhat gradual and I don't recall it being bad. Nice sunsets, but it is close to sites on both sides. I might be able to track down more photos at some point.

What do you have for equipment? We had a tent and screenhouse and one car at the time. Took up most the space.

We will just have 1 tent, a canopy and 2 vehicles.....I remember site 16 was around 4-5 feet off the water, but like you said, it was gradual and would not be a problem for launching our kayaks....Sounds like 34 is the same way.

If you can post or send me more pictures, that would be great!!!!

Thanks,

Phil

I just went to my photo albums, and now I think it was 38 site I was thinking of. I did look in my book of camping info, and I do have site 34 marked as one that looked great ! So, I am thinking it's even closer to the water.. if it's the one I am thinking of. Sorry - but that's the best I can offer !

Rollins Fan,

I sent you a PM about sites 13 & 14.....Did you get it?

Looks like site 34 is booked for the week we want to go, but 13 and 14 are open.....We like the looks of 13 bettter, but it's hard to see the water access.....Any opinion on 13 or 14?

Thanks for all you help.
