...oh I love wish list.

So this years big purchase, I'm thinking about an inflatable motorized boat just for zipping around the ponds and to swing over to the Trading Post

A bigger vehicle, so we don't have to play Tetris with the camping gear to get it all loaded into our Ford Fusion. LOVE the Fusion, but we could use more room. We apparently caught the attention of a fellow camper this past summer at FC who

would not believe all our "stuff" would go into our car, sans rooftop carrier or trailer. Obviously we drove here with the "stuff" so it had to go back with us!

We need new airbeds. We use double-height twin air mattresses and these were awesome purchases from Target that have lasted 4 camping seasons, but they don't make them any more! Lots of queen mattresses to choose from, but Chris sleeps like a rotisserie chicken and keeps me up all night bouncing on an air mattress, need twin mattresses for my sanity.

Oh and I'm hoping Santa puts a headlamp in my Christmas Stocking this year. ;)

As usual, if we win the lotto, the game change

Our needs are pretty simple and we have most of what
Click for more info!

we want - new 2 room Pahaque tent, Pahaque screen room, Kelty camp kitchen, replector oven, Gransforord axe, Pet

zl head lamps. We too could use a bigger vehicle than our Saab wagon (being very anal and a former hotel doorman I can do a very mean packing job) but instead we could go for a small trailer to haul some stuff and a new Bell kevlar canoe

would be nice - http://www.maloneautoracks.com/sport-trailers.php

My favorite headlamp is the high powered LED lamp by Coleman. Comes in Coleman red too!

See http://www.coleman.com/coleman/ColemanC ... qcYxZypqSp

Mind you, not so sure about LED headlamps if you have, or around children. They can pretty much blind someone, or so it seems if you ever get the light direct into your eyes.

Thanks for the recommendation. I was eyeing that one not too long ago, but I think I'm sold on getting one with a red / amber light or shield option to preserve night vision. 8)

Harbor freight has a nice little trailer you can put a box on or even a small row boat That will tow easily behind a Ford Fusion or Honda Civic for that matter. We started out that way first towing that behind a 83 honda accord with a who

pping 75 HP engine then upgraded pulling our 15ft Boston whaler behind it. The nice thing about useing a boat as a trailer is, you have a boat. In that case the boat was almost more powerful than the car with a 70 horse outboard. However, a small box trailer or even a aluminum row boat with a 9 horse outboard would free up a lot of room inside the car. The price for the trailer only without box is $180 for 8 inch wheels or 209 for 12 inch wheels. I would get the 12 inch, not because of the wheels but mainly because the wheel bearings are easily found. A class 2 hitch would be plenty to haul it and probably can even use a class 1 (I built mine). My trailer is still in use today, it hauls my raceboats and has done a lot of work at home for the past 30 years.Image

Unfortunately you can't tow with an '06 Fusion, not sure about the more recent ones. We've actually discussed building our own teardrop, using the inside for hauling and then storing gear at camp and completely going

all-out on the kitchen galley, since we love to cook so much. We'd still sleep in our tent - there's no way I'd be able to tolerate sleeping in a small compartment like that, but having it as a storage closet and camp kitchen would be awesome. 8)

With 2.5 liters the fusion should, the Accord we had was 1.7 and that towed all our camping gear in this http://www.bostonwhaler.com/Page.aspx/pageId/29594/pmid/268453/150-Super-Sport.aspx. They do make a class 1 and even a class 2 hitches for it. Harbor freight does have tailers you could build into a tear drop. The trick with building a tear drop is getting the seals and water deflection (gutters) right. Built one with my dad years ago. Have been tempted to build another with all the options. If you go that route, keep an eye out for someone dumping

My wish list:

A Hobie kayak

trailer. Listing those behemoths to the top of the SUV is killing us. But we LOVE our Hobies!

A BIG tent! REALLY BIG!
